Job Leyva _ob_eyva — For the first time in my entire, adult reading life I returned a book, not because it was defective or anything, but because I really did not feel the product was worth either my time or the price. I have read wall-bangers, I have DNF'd tons of books, I have just outright disliked books. But I've always considered that just par for the course. You buy a book you may not like it that is normal risk as a consumer. Never have I even once considered returning a book just because I didn't like it. This book was a bit different. First I was hesitant to purchase it in the first place because the price point for an ebook I felt was excessive especially for an unknown-to-me author. On Amazon, it was priced at over $8.00. But I rationalized a bit... I like to support the sub-genre whenever possible, I like to discover new authors and, heck, I just got a fat check back from Uncle Sam. So I took plunge. Even with all that I was still a bit put out that this book is just a little over novella length. For 8.00 I want a full length novel. But that was just the beginning... -- the writing was simplistic -- the characters were cartoonish -- the dialogue did not feel like it should be coming out the mouths of adult, college educated, professionals -- the motivations and actions of the characters felt murky and were often confusing -- even for an erotica the sex scenes felt tacked on and shoe-horned in and awfully uninteresting Frankly, I felt insulted. Honestly, if this book had been, say, 3.99, I probably would have just shrugged and deleted it off my Kindle. But even with my great tax return I could no longer justify the price point. Can't recommend.

Natalia Lopez natylopezhernandez — The Hound of the Baskervilles seems to be the most famous of the Sherlock Holmes novels but for me it didn't have enough of the clever deductions from Holmes as the previous two novels had. There's lots of plot twists but I missed the moments where Holmes becomes ye olde MacGyver when he picks up a piece of grass and says "It's Indian grass. You can tell by the discolouration around the tip!" or something like that. It's still a very fun story though. In Devonshire there is an estate belonging to the Baskervilles which was been within the family for generations. The Estate backs onto an expansive moor where, legend has it, a large evil hound lives and terrorises the Baskervilles. Murder, twists and turns follow. The Hound of the Baskervilles is still a solid story but it just didn't give me the kick of the others. But only by a tiny amount.
