Orange Ching _ — Fast-paced with a large and intriguing cast of characters. Bagshawe really seems to have a lot of respect for Sheldon's style and manages to nail that elusive quality he had of keeping the reader turining to the next page and the next and being unwilling to put the book down. I did guess the twist, which was a little bit of a bummer and the ending wasn't as much of a cliffhanger as Sheldon was so great at doing, but overall I enjoyed the book very much

Pao Cajamarca paolacajam6372 — This book was amazing. A very intersting story from a view that we will never know. I kept me on the edge of my seat. I was rooting for him and just wanted to scream at the father! Loved it. I recommend for junior high and above. Definitely a YA book.

Catarina Gonçalves catarinagoncalves — This story is out of the ordinary for me to read but was nonetheless, worthwhile. There's adventure and mystery, courage and friendship. The story draws you in from the beginning and doesn't let you out of it's clutches till the end. I normally read books like Wicked Lovely by Melisa Marr or The Summer I turned Pretty by Jenny Han but I decided to try out this book. This is one of my unforgettable books. It's a pity the libraries only let you borrow and not keep.

Elizabeth Arana elizabeth_arana — This book was very well-crafted and compelling. At the risk of having far too many novels well-rated, I had to give this one a five simply because its style was heavy inspiration for a recently completed work of my own. The story is told in chunks of present time broken up by the individual stories of each major character in somewhat similar fashion to the Canterbury Tales. It's woven carefully with good detailing, each story as interesting and compelling as the characters found within. It's definitely more space-opera, so "big epic plot" is what it's all about. It's technically the first in a series of four books (broken up as two sets of two), and the second finishes off what was started in the first.

Yunus Koç ynskc — Right! Been meaning to write this for awhile. Unfortunately for this book, I read it immediately after finishing The Wise Man's Fear, which is a gorgeously written, 1,000 page chunker. I neglected to shift my brain into YA mode before starting Poison Study, so my review is perhaps not as glowing as it might otherwise have been. Don't get me wrong; I did enjoy this book. I liked Yelena; she matured throughout the course of the story. I thought she handled the 'escaped prisoner' simulation with creativity and finesse. And I liked how her passion for gymnastics enabled her to excel where others may have perhaps failed. (view spoiler) I guess I was disappointed by the fact that the book was called Poison Study, but there wasn't much detail about that side of Yelena's life. It does come up every now and again, but only really when it furthers the plot. I would have liked a little more detail into the poisons, how she trained herself to learn to identify them, maybe even how to brew some antidotes. (view spoiler) I am looking forward to reading the next book to see what the author does with the whole magic side of her universe. There is a lot of potential there, and I'm hoping for a little more depth.
