Asma Odeh _sma_deh — Quick, enjoyable read. Fast reading but still packed full of history and cultural flavor. The themes are intense, almost to the point of being a over the top, but it doesn't ruin the book by any means. Recommended for quick, rewarding story.

Although former High School classmate, Warren Addison is known for his privacy, she is confident she can get the scoop on his Bestseller book. Surprisingly, getting Warren to agree is easy. The shocker comes when Miranda learns her long time friend, and guy she's always loved, Chad English, is separated from his wife. When Bernie English gave her husband three ultimatums before he could come back home, she never thought he would call her on it. Now, with Miranda in the picture, Bernie can't help but feel threatened by the woman she's felt has always outdone her. Miranda is determined to help Chad through this difficult time. When she isn't over at Warren's she's lending support to him and can't help but allow her teenage feelings for him to come back. But as her interview with Warren progresses, the atmosphere between them change and she feels caught up between the two men. Warren has always watched Miranda from afar and has never understood the hold Chad has on her. Despite trying to win her over, he knows he can't rush her. During the Christmas Party, Chad and Miranda come close to throwing away what really matters to them. Just like Miranda promised, Chad is back with his wife and daughter, and she is with the man who has always seen her for who she is, Warren.

Stephenie Green stepheniegreen — Waste. Of. Time. 400 pages could have been removed from this book and it would have earned an extra star or 2. But alas, it's a necessary evil when you want to learn the entire story of Bella and Edward (and believe me, you do).

Megan C megancnewton — Very informative about the Hmong culture and understanding of their world. And, for once, a medical narative that doesn't read like a doctor writes on a patient's chart. Not overly sympathetic or judgemental of either side. Instead, a straightforward and honest description of what happens when two cultures clash (Hmong and American medical community).

Tommy Mcguire tommymcguire — Wow. This poem has so many layers. First I would just recommend reading it aloud, listening to the sounds of the words, and then the second time through you can worry about what they mean. And that's really interesting, too. All the little historical references are so much fun to discover and puzzle out - seriously! And I don't even like this sort of thing usually, I had to read this poem for school. And guess what? I'm actually enjoying analyzing it!
