Read Wendy pwread55620713 — I ended up getting this book for Christmas because i couldnt stop talking about Bradley's previous book. a really good book, once you get past the first hundred pages or so. James Bradley didnt even get into the real story until after the first 100 pages. It was nice to have a little background information but he stretched it out for too long. He also mentioned his father a few times in this book. Yes we know who his father is, but I didnt see it necessary to bring it up again in this book. It's a different island, and completely different story. The book was well written, although Bradley did take quite a bit from other books. I thought I had read one page 2 or 3 times but then i realized i did read the material, but it was in other books. I most likely would reccomend this book, but not without a heads up that it will take some time to get through the first few chapters.

杨 柳 875678862ee76 — I liked this book a lot, but in the beginning not so much. I heard the book was good and decided to read it and it sounded very interesting. When I started reading the book, I wasn't sure that I wanted to finish it. It was a hard topic and I wasn't sure how I felt with blame being tossed around. I'm so glad that I finished the book. At the end of the book with the questions and answers with the book, Jay Asher says that he made it somewhat suspenseful so people would finish it. And at times that was the only thing pushing me to finish, to somehow figure out the connections and see what happened. I recommend this book as a must read! It deals with a topic that is sadly prevalent in today's society.

Ricardo Monteiro ricardoffmonteiro — I actually listened to the audio version of this book, which was brilliantly read by Janeane Garofalo. It had me laughing and driving, driving and laughing. Really, it was one of the most enjoyable audiobooks I've heard in a while.

Evan Grant minigrantyz — This memoir, feels similar to Ondaatje or Guterson in the sense that it is Jane Brox's memoir, but she is not the main fixture, instead the land of the Merrimack Valley, and its orchards over the course of industrialization of the region are its focus. It's also an immigrant narrative, of sorts, as Brox tells stories of her own family's immigration to the U.S. and their interaction with the history of the land and landscape.
