A L andylavendf115 — It was an entertaining novel. Read kind of like a movie the way it jumped to different scenes that were happening at the same time. You can tell it was written by a guy...lots of action scenes.

Yağmur ünal yagmurunal — This is a really funny clever book, written by a biologist, and what he does is use the mating habits of all these different species of animals to reflect on the ridiculousness, the tragedy, the beauty, and the futility of the human animal's mating games. Viskovitz, in the various interconnected stories in this book, is at times a shark, a rat, a lion, a praying mantis, a pig, an ant, a bee...and his fumblings in all these forms to find love-and-sex, sex-and-love, are both hilarious and tragic. It's a really terrific, creative book, guaranteed to both delight and horrify. Watch out for self-impregnating, hermaphroditic snails!

Ms Jahb jonesmess — I can't force myself to finish reading this. After waiting years for this book to come out, I am extremely disappointed. Nothing in the book seems to just flow, everything feels forced. Kenneth Johnson was amazing as the writer of the original V: The Miniseries screenplay, but it seems the transition to novel writer failed for him.

Magnanni Creative magnanni — It is a short novel (for me, all under the 200 pages is short...) but very intensive. A story of seduction, of passion that win over conventions. And old story indeed, like those of Rodolfo Valentino in the role of the Sheick, when he seduced a maiden. Here we have a Pirate, a strong, old style pirate, that prefer men over women, that like a bit of rough over gentleness. But also we have a Pirate that, when the butcher's love is give freely, become the true lover.
