Henrique Werlich henriquedelucca — The book traces a group of girls who are recent college grads through their twenties. Girls in White Dresses is written in the first person with different characters who are all friends narrating each chapter. Jobs, families, where to live, friendship, boyfriends, and later husbands and children are the main focal points of these girls. Their lives are discussed using how they are felling and what they they are doing at that moment to further the story. While it may seem like a superficial read since many times the why is not discussed, I feel as though it is a story which most women in their twenties feel as though they are living. Many times it is hard to explain the why when they themselves do not understand it. As I read the book I kept relating to them and realized the book is really a discussion of adulthood.

анастасия бичевская _rchigram1 — I picked this book up one day when I ran out of reading material and was too lazy to head back to the apt for another book. I'd read about Meg Wolitzer but never read any of her books. This was fascinating. It really sparked me to be into reading more books about families as opposed to the single protagonist. Great for anyone with memories (or interest) in the 70s even though most of it takes place in present time.

Carlton Kendall carltonkendall — Just when you think the plot can't get any crazier, or the wit sharper, Bill Fitzhugh somehow finds more. This book is a smart and humorous commentary on politics and the state of healthcare. Since his first book, Pest Control, is one of my favorite all-time books, which says a lot since it's not Science Fiction, I can say this Good Read won't disappoint.

Rodolfo Bueno rbs8 — A compelling, heart-wrenching read. I don't know what it was, really. It was so somber, like the lights of the reaaaal world dimmed and life muted while I read. Always a good quality in a book :) Sweethearts really pulled me in.
