Tamer Nabil tmnabil7d08 — I read this book on vacation, and it was definitely an entertaining read. The book is about a mixed-race family living in a wealthy suburb of Boston. It's an excellent example of how to make an omniscient narrator work--Smith goes in and out of all her characters' heads, both major and minor, without skipping a beat. She also does some really interesting things with scene cutting, especially in some highly dramatic moments.
