Alex Rivera _lex_ivera — As before, this was an excellent book. It feels like storytelling, because it is. It's a bit strange that the form of the series is essentially Kvothe's biography. I'm not really sure what we're progressing toward. But that doesn't take away from how enjoyable this book is. Some books leave me satisfied, and some books leave me yearning for more. This one somehow accomplished both. I think the ending was a good place to break in the story. Though this book had a lot of pages, I felt like I whizzed right through it. To be honest, I spent almost every waking moment reading it since I picked it up. Kvothe is one of those always-developing characters. I can't seem to reconcile him as the innkeeper with him as the student, but I know he must have gotten there somehow. He's different in this book than the last, but not vastly so. He's a likeable character, but still so... fragile. I don't like to re-read many books, but it's likely that I actually will go back and read both of these books before the last comes out. I really enjoyed the first book, and the events were very memorable. Only time will tell if the second is as memorable, but I suspect it is.

Sem Verhoeven semverhoeven — This series is the fantasy I recommend for people who don't like fantasy. I particularly like that the characters change over time, something which happens too rarely in most high fantasy.

Thiago Silva silva_thiago — Yet another Potter book. I think that this was a very good movie, but honestly, I'm less impressed with this book. In particular, I'm not a huge fan of the house elf controversy (which was thankfully excluded from the movie). I'm puzzled why very rich influential white people continue to create characters that speak in ebonics and play up to the horrible stereotype that African Americans still encounter. I suppose when you have Ms. Rowling write the house elf Winky as an Aunt Jemima character that LOVES slavery, than there is good reason that such a stereotype abounds. Disappointing to say the very least. Don't get me wrong, I still love Harry Potter and have a great deal of respect for Rowling.....it's just...as Ron would say, "Come off it!"

Amanda Sanchez amandasanchez — I would have given this a higher review, but I didn't like a twist at the end. But the story is pretty good starting about half way throught. And it has a very good looking main charactor so that doesn't hurt either. Hopefully the next book is better! It just came out in paperback so I will be giving it a try for sure!!!

Brittany Sheckels purplestgirl — Freshman year in high school this was a class read that we did. The book was an assignment really. I will admit upfront that I am not a big fan of old literature. I dunno if its the way it is written or because the books are just from a time that is just too ifferent from my own for me to be able to really truley grasp it and immerse myself in it. On one hand I will admit this book is no different than any other of its time, being written in a way that shows its age a bit. It isn't a boring read though, and really its one of the better pieces of older lit I have read. The characters are classic and well developed, the story is easy to follow and intriging, and most importantly it has a point that isnt drawn out in the way its presented, commenting on hu.am nature in a way. we all have two sides really and the author captures that in this usng the potion and cience as a way to show thta. Even if you dispise old lit this i one old piece i will gladly call a classic and highly reccomend to anyone looking for a good story that isnt too long or drawn out.
