Mohamed Zaid mohammedashour — Great book about an under-known part of American history. Wilkerson does an excellent (though at times repetitive) job of writing the hows and whys of the Great Migration, while also dispelling common myths about the impact of the migrants on the receiving cities - those who migrated were actually more likely to stay married, less likely to be on welfare and had equivalent, if not more, education, than African Americans who were born in the North. At 500-odd pages, it's a long haul, but definitely worth it.
