I also never knew that Booth was killed by a self-castrated military officer self-named Boston Corbett because he found Jesus in Boston... if that's what it takes to find Jesus, I'm happy to stay in the animal kingdom.

Nora Gasparik gsprk — I have a very difficult time deciding which of Kay's books is my favorite. This is usually at the top of my list. "The Sarantine Mosaic" (two book series) is also right at the top of the list. Allegedly, there is a movie being made for this book. I am incredibly scared about that fact. It has potential to be so amazing, but it also has incredible potential to not be anything near to the book. I am worried.

Audrey Barnett _udrey_89 — Normally I am not a fan of short stories perhaps because I believe they are the hardest pieces of fiction to execute well. They are either too packed or too sparse and I usually feel like the author should just write a poem or an entire novel. This collection is an exception to the rule, however. Orringer knows how to meld together just the right amount of beautiful, poetic imagery and a plot that draws the reader in instantly. Both disturbing and powerful, each story touches upon the cross roads between childhood and adulthood. Although young women probably will relate to these stories the most, anyone can enjoy the richness of Orringer's writing and her keen knowledge of the human condition.
