王 韦 gzsz1996ccd4 — I list this book in my "currently reading" shelf because I am constantly picking it up and reading a few pages. This book is the memoirs and letters of Jim Elliot as put together by his wife Elisabeth. I first read this book as preparation for a mission trip to Poland. It was required reading. At that time I was just beginning my faith journey, so much of what is in this book just absolutely blew my mind. In many ways it still does, though I understand his persepctive much better now. Through this book, Jim has become one of my heroes. His insight into faith and walking with God are amazing. His letters to family are inspiring, and his example of sacrificing himself for the growth of the kingdom is nothing short of amazing when viewed through the lens of today's church. I know there are others who have done the same...I have not read many of their stories. I hold this as one of my favorite books of all time.

Peter Ortiz _ortiz — Absolutley loved it. Richard Wentworth is a wealthy "playboy" by day. By night he turns into the mysterious "Spider, Master of Men". Similar to the Shadow and even more ruthless. These Pulp adventure heroes didn't mind taking the law into their own hands and killing the Villains (unlike Doc Savage who became more of a progenitor for the Super heroes). It's obvious here that the Spider (as well as the Shadow) influenced the creation of Batman. Highly recommended to all pulp adventure readers.

Addison Loftin _ddison_oftin — Muriel is everything you wouldn’t expect in being Satan’s daughter. She lives reasonably without any financial influence from her father and is striving to own her bar, but perhaps the most intriguing fact is that she’s still a virgin. Much to her father’s disappointment, she’s not like the rest of her rebellious siblings out stirring up trouble, yet she’s really the only child of his that he’s grown “attached” to. Their father/daughter relationship continues it’s growth when Satan’s seat of power is threatened by an unknown adversary and puts Muriel’s life at risk. Muriel is a fighter and was taught by one of the best, so this girl isn’t ready to give up without a fight and she won’t have to do it alone. Muriel has fallen hard for a guy she barely knows yet he seems determined to know more about her and protect her. He’s hot, he’s strong, and he’s full of secrets. Could he be ‘the one’? With a lot of humor, romance, and some twisted parenting, Ms. Langlais gives readers Hell from another perspective. For Muriel, this is where she grew up and a place where many of it’s inhabitants are misunderstood by others. Told from Muriel’s point of view, readers are taken on a once in a lifetime journey to Hell and back with introductions to some really fascinating characters. One of my favorites is Bambi, Muriel’s incubus older sister. Bambi may be a stripper and scoffs at the mere mention of the word love, but she’s extremely supportive of Muriel as any big sister should be. Although there are some extremely hot scenes with enough power to give anyone a great visual, there are some mushy moments too that I wasn’t as fond of. The action came to an abrupt end leaving lots of questions, but this is only book one, so now it’s on to book two and the continuation of this adventure with Muriel and company.
