All of Brown's books appear to follow the same formulaic approach. If you have read one of his books you know how the other books will end. This book, like the others, is purely plot driven, offer little character growth, and address conspiracy theories and no themes.

A seminal work of art, which many consider the first major and successful example of the Western graphic novel. Three stories (each better than the next), following the course of life and characters living on imaginary Dropsie Avenue (Anystreet, NYC). Very much the story of Eisner's life growing up in NYC. Just great stuff, and beautifully illustrated and laid out.

An interesting literary tale of family and ethnicity. Eugenides exploration of incest and hermaphrodism, though well rendered, seems there more to titillate than anything else.

Shel Silverstein's poems are one of the most exciting and adventurous out there. They are always fun to memorize.
I read this book a few years ago and laughed till I cried. It was great, the movie was okay...

A quietly disturbing novel on an HDB childhood in Singapore, with far more of that elusive, authentic "heartland" touch and accuracy and detail of description than Daren Shiau's "Heartland" or Colin Cheong's "The Stolen Child". Not much of a focal point in the plot, but it's still resonant and reads very smoothly. An overlooked classic of local lit.

I really liked this book. It begins in the 1920's in New York with a bored well-to-do socialite....What could be better? This woman who is married to a respectable but boring man is pulled into the exciting underground world of art and artists. She becomes a patron of the Arts, funding and encouraging many different artists. She meets one that will change her life. He, without her knowledge paints a suggestive nude portrait of her and unveils it at his first major opening. What follows is the story of it's ramifications. I couldn't put this book down....it was fast paced and interesting.
I actually listened to her read the book on tape, and it was utterly hilarious! I love you, Molly.
