good strong start, but peters out and thankfully ends there instead of slogging thru that which no longer holds interest. tale of down and out space chick on her way to a better way. all about black and white illus.

This was actually a self-help book (I thought it was just going to be humor/commentary). I enjoyed reading it and in each chapter found a little insight. I found myself reflecting on the things that I had achieved in the last two years and the places where I still need work, and even learned a few things about myself. Full of very funny quizzes and the chapters are neither long nor preachy. Recommend to my mommy friends.

wow. this book talks about the subject in depth. dated, but still worth checking out. on a side note, it can be found at the brooklyn college library in the child abuse section(?!?). curious.

Sadly enough, it took watching the HBO TV Series Trueblood for me to even realize these books existed. Thankfully, my husband bought all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels for me at xmas. Written in first person, the novel gives a more personal perspective of the world our unlikely heroine, Sookie Stackhouse, lives in. And what a wonderfully addictive world it is! Dead Until Dark is part mystery, part romance with a hint of trash thrown in. A satisfyingly tasty read for a dirty ol' vampophile like myself.

The premise was not believable. To not have a memory everyday and just carry on? Hard to buy.
As great a collection of poems, as I've read.
I gave this book a five because it is wonderful at accomplishing exactly what I hoped it would! We have several books about baptism but they are all more of a lecture and loose the young child right from the start. Not this one, George is a wonderful story teller and uses dialog that pulls young children in. He uses stories that happened to him during his young life to isslustrate how Heavenly Father was teaching him the things he needed to understand before he made the commitment to be baptized. I only wish I would have found it sooner! It was great for my 8 year as well as a great reminder for my 12 and 10 year old on what we commit to do at baptism. I won't lie, it was a good reminder for me as well! I'm excited to have it in my home.

A fast paced read with many twists and turns kept me reading far into the night.
I kept thinking there must be a point to this story. I did enjoy the language used by the author however.
Hot. Hot tempers, hot emotions, hot food, hot mess (in the best literary ways)... Interesting format. I like how Esquirel starts each chapter with a recipe then relates the food into the story.
