My Thoughts: i thought this book was a great read, full of friendships and courage. It had a very adventurous and exciting storyline which is vacuum packed into this book. The only negative for me was the at points the story was written in a childish way, but in most parts it was perfect!

I found this book true in multiple ways.Ida B. is such a smart kid and it shows how kids may react to some things when their world is destroyed!!! I know that once something is set a certain way some may not appreciate or accept change. I know many have felt some way when they had to change so much of their lives.I, in a way, can relate a little to Ida B. and how she felt when that change happened. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys nature even a little.

Beautifully written stories, but the middle-class marriages and their "modern malaise" and dysfunction got to me too much to continue. The stories I completed were imaginative and gorgeous, however. I might pick it up again when I feel more emotionally stable :).
