I've read The Strange Powe and The Possesed and loved them both. Can't wait to get into The Passion! If you like Sci-Fi on Pshychic powers then you will love this series. I recommend them highly.

Not quite what I expected, but still very interesting. I loved the ideas. I thought the science of it was, at times, a stretch - working with what seemed like extraordinarily small samples to support an idea. But the ideas were good. Recommended.

this was an ok book, probably worth the read, not life changing, a little cheesy, quick read though.

I didn't bother going on with this book, because I knew it was going to bore and irritate me by chapter five. Ugh. So Cat apparently can't get over her ex-boyfriend, but so much so that she lets a murderous, evil vampire go because that vampire sired her boyfriend, Bones. Even though if I'm reading it right, he did it against Bones' will in the first place so why would he want that guy to be kept alive? Also, she knows that he murdered to people just for trying to steal (but I guess if you're a servant your murder doesn't matter and your murderer doesn't need to be caught or anything, you're just the help). Then she stabs herself to cover up the fact that she failed at her job miserably because she's "sentimental". Then she drinks wine instead of gin and tonic like she wants on a date and I'm sorry, but no. I just can't. I've read enough bullshit books about supposedly strong women and heroines who edit themselves and do all sorts of ridiculous bullshit because they apparently NEED to have boyfriends or men or whatever. Also, the fight scene in the beginning chapter was horrendous and so obviously overdone. Throwing five knives at once? Really, author person, really? I get that your heroine is supposed to be super powered, but maybe you could try not to stretch the rather generous bounds of my suspension of disbelief to the breaking point. It was just so over the top and sounded like a kid with a bedsheet tied around their neck as a cape making up ever more outrageous superpowers and stunts. "And then I totally blasted him with my amazing finger lasers!" The Red Reaper thing didn't help either. Oh wow, a fiesty redhead in paranormal romance! That's never been done before! (I'm still waiting for one person just to be different and write about a shy and rather mellow redhead). *shakes head*. Physically strong but morally, mentally, and emotionally boring and weak? Sorry, my life isn't that long. I have better books to read.

I know I read this book and I know I liked it, because I had previously sworn off all things Thomas Hardy after reading Return of the Native, which I hated with the fire of a thousand burning suns. But then I read Tess and I liked it. Problem is I don't remember what it's about. I want to say her dad pimps her out to her rich relatives? And she falls in love with some dude but drama happens? I don't remember. I probably should read it again but it kept me and Thomas Hardy on such great terms I wouldn't dare do anything to try and shake that up. What if I end up hating it the second time? Not a chance I'm willing to take.

I am glad I read this book. It took me a long time to finish it, but it was quite satisfying in the end.

kinda along the same vein as the davinci code, but more of the history of mary magdalene, and a little less 'codish' but the suspense and secret society aspects still find their way in. i actually listened to the book on tape, and it was a great story, kept my interest throughout and gave me some interesting things to think about religious history. moderately cheesy but enjoyable.
