Too many people with the same name. A bit slow at times but still interesting.

The impact a man can have on his family and their future is immense. Just thinking about writing these letters has raised my awareness of my words and just how much impact they actually have.

I love hip hop. But I'm white. Jason Tanz tries to figure out what this means in Other People's Property, aptly named after a popular 90s hip hop anthem by Naughty by Nature.

Some of the poems really struck me, but overall I wasn't a huge fan.
I was listening to this on audio and wanted to get back into the car to hear what happens to Kristi and Gusty, which is always a good sign.

I need a category for "bestseller via marketing, general low standards of readers".
One of my all time favorites!! thanks Laura!
1962 Caldecott Medal Winner Wood block prints in red, orange, pink, brown, and greenish-goldish make this a particularly interesting one to look at. A magician changes a mouse into successively more powerful animals in order to save its life. Once it gets to the tiger stage, it becomes arrogant, so he changes it back. An Indian folktale.

Rob, a record store owner and contemplative soul, is sort of bumbling through this story trying to sort things out in his (love)life. It was a very easy read that resonated with me even though I'm of the opposite sex (and sexual orientation). I could recognize the same fears in myself and the same behaviours in some men I know and have known, and there were a few times I went "a-HA!" because I could finally figure things out. It's hard for me to explain why I gave this five stars. It's possibly due to nostalgia and the fact that I saw and loved the film first. But there's something comforting about this story, as if it validates all first-world, human irrational thought, because we are shown to be completely flawed - and that is "normal." I liked feeling like all people are weird and insecure and no one actually has it all figured out.

A biblical tale [fictional of course... not unlike all biblical tales] told from a woman's perspective. Interesting. I am grateful for the tampon. And the tampon's inventor, Tampona Johnson.
