I really liked how this book showed the process, frustrations, and sometimes drama of scientific discoveries. I learned a lot and also found the anecdotes about the featured scientists very entertaining.

I thought this was a good, book it was kind of slow took me two days to read instead of one like the others, but it was still pretty good. I'd reccomend it for sure.

I picked this up in a Library in Big Sur, expecting to learn about Bill Gates, and instead found it was about the history of the PC industry. A fascinating history, and still a very relevant read, even though the history stops at 1995. There have been just a few developments since then!

Not a great book (and certainly not one of King's best), but it was a fun little romp. Since it's a Kindle-only book there isn't a page count, but this definitely rates as a short-story in my book. Thing that bugged me: King's seemingly-endless plugging for the Kindle. But if you're reading the story, you obviously already own the Kindle... so I suppose it's just a wink-wink-nudge-nudge to other owners. I think this will get less annoying as time passes, and maybe a read-through a year from now will be better. (And I suppose if I was writing a book about the Kindle I'd sing it's praises too since I absolutely adore this little device.) Things that I liked: The writing style. I love his word choices and punctuation style. It's the reason I've been reading his novels for years and the reason I will continue to do so. No change here. **SPOILERS BE HERE** It's a neat idea (Kindle that can access stories/news from alternate realities), it's executed well, and I was *delighted* to see the phrase "low men in yellow coats" and their infamous red Cadillac. I actually squee'd out loud. And I'm a sucker for anything that references the Dark Tower. The way King ties together most of his stories with the Dark Tower always keeps me coming back for more, even little fun morsels like this.

Great story, but it's just a repeat of Angles & Demons, so once you've read two of Dan Brown's stories, the books don't seem so great anymore.

In her honestly written words, we see a very dear woman, a devoted wife and mother. Many will be able to relate to and admire her years of building a solid family and home life that she held dear to the end. The reader will ache with her while reading about her dealings with life's cruel blows and no real help, no personal faith in God. The book was very interesting, even endearing,as one gets to know Elizabeth outside the spotlight of media.
The only piece of the Twilight tetralogy that's any good. Meyer manages a surprisingly good balance between the evil vampire suspense and the romantic triangle tension. She also involves her cast of vegetarian vampires more and fleshes out a couple of her characters with a bit of depth, something horribly missing from Meyer's mythology. However, it's sad that I'm more attached to her third tier characters than I am her heroine and hero. It was finally nice to have a well-paced, deeper story. Too bad this was the height of the series.

Bud, Not Buddy (Coretta Scott King Author Award Winner) by Christopher Paul Curtis (1999): When Bud Caldwell escapes from his foster home in 1936, he embarks upon an odyssey that takes him through depression-era Michigan and into the company of a jazz band. But will he be deterred from his quest to find his father? Bud’s street smarts coupled with his naivete and vulnerability give his narration more than one dimension, but the real hook here are the funny-but-true “Bud Caldwell’s Rules and Things for Having a Funner Life and Making a Better Liar Out of Yourself.” Many aspects of the time period are touched upon, such as hoovervilles, sundown towns, jazz bands, and the economics of keeping a white man in a black band, but far from reading like a history book, the novel thrives on Bud’s pluck and luck and builds to real emotional punches.[return]
