I think every female should read this. Especially before they make the choice to get caught up in drinking and the bar scene "phase" but I know (from personal experience) that it is still an equally powerful read while currently in the clutch of said "phase". I am sure males could learn a thing or two as well but being intoxicated as a female can be more dangerous in ways that is less commonly heard of concerning males. It definitely assisted in making a change in my own life years ago (along with Dry by Augusten Burroughs) that have drastically moved the compass of my life in an entirely different and healthy direction.

I thought this book was just OK...didn't really take to the writing style although I understand why it was written the way it was - to capture how naive and sheltered the main characters were. I actually found the movie (with Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan) much more compelling and heartfelt than the book - definitely worth seeing.

Great start to this story. This follows the events of Marvel's Civil War. I'd read Brubaker's earlier Winter Soldier arc on Captain America, and he seems to be hitting his stride.

I'm reading this book because I walked by it in the library. I don't really want to read this book, but I am.We'll see how it goes.

Anyone who had parents who grew up in Boston heard the story passed down about the great Molasses Flood. It was usually told in an offhand manner, ending with "on a hot day you can still smell the molasses". This is the whole story, and there isn't anything offhand about it. A very good piece of social, as well as labor history. I, of course, ended up taking the book to the scene of the crime and retracing the steps. Fascinating.

Tom Wolfe probably couldn't understand women if he tried, but the male characters in this book all rang true enough to me. Nowhere near as bad as its negative reputation suggets. It actually has several moments of brilliance. Were it not for the mindless mess that is Charlotte, this is actually quite a good read.

Hilariosity! Double Cool With Knobs! So much British slang that I've learned from these books. I love Georgia and all her crazy escapades...especially with Robbie aka the Sex God. Her stories will make you laugh out loud, even in the most awkward of places (try the waiting room in a doctor's office) Georgia's blunt and skewed look at life will make you smile and wish you lived a bit closer to the Channel. Every book is amazing, highly reccommended that you read them all. I love the British!!

Both my daughters *loved* this book as infants and toddlers! It is so cute, and it's fun to make the animal noises as you read. In fact, I read it to them so many times, I have it memorized, and the girls are 7 and 11 now!

This is the kind of book that seems really good while your reading it. Then after awhile you realize "wait, why did I like this?" I could go on and on about the flaws of this book, but I'm not going to because truth be told it is worth a read. People just like to pick popular things apart. So read it,just don't get obsessed with it. I was one of those girls who got obsessed. (Not Pretty)
