The Bubble series is kind of a dumb series about a single mother that is a hair dresser trying to become a journalist. I started reading Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series at the same time and found myself wanting to read those books first. These ones sat on the shelf until I ran out of Plum books.

Yet another book that I liked but didn't love. There were times when I found it hard to go back to - there was never, for me, any drive to see what happened next. Note: The rest of this review has been withdrawn due to the changes in Goodreads policy and enforcement. You can read why I came to this decision here. In the meantime, you can read the entire review at Smorgasbook

Wow. Dorsey is once again astounding - even more so than Black Wine. For as much as I love to read, it is the rare book that holds my attention for prolonged stretches of time. I read this one in two days. Beautifully written, wonderful characters, great story, thematic depth, this book has everything. Dorsey's style is delightful, and would be enjoyable to read even if she didn't have much to say. It is well-crafted, well-paced, and sprinkled with captivating images and wonderful turns of phrase. It is also rife with allusions to other works, which is quite fun (though I'm sure I missed a lot of them). And she has a lot of interesting things to say on top of it. Morgan is a fully-realized person, laid bare in such a way that her story is compelling. The story itself is a fascinating take on "first contact." It's a bit like Stranger in a Strange Land meets Rent.

A fantastic book giving me an insight to the hard life of a young man struggling to survive in an Indian city. It was written with compassion and a sense of realism.

Made my mouth water. Better than movie (the book usually is). Great writing that arouses all your senses.

Well, I now know more about the Roosevelts and their rise to presidency, and I no longer imagine FDR as a character from the movie Annie. Worth reading right there! I heard a bit about this book on npr, so the various talks of affairs and lesbianism was not a surprise. I liked the way the author handled the scandals from their time period - if she didn't have written proof, she didn't always leap to the most sensational conclusion. The other thing I learned was that I never want to be First Lady of any sort - it sounds exhausting. Constantly entertaining and having people in and out of the house - I definitely could not have been close friends with Franklin and Eleanor. They never seem to need a nap!

Awwww no picture...well go pick this one up and you will have so many pictures in your mind that you won't be able to stop thinking about them for months after you put this baby down. I have no idea how she wrote this book. It is truly a masterpiece by a woman who is fiercely passionate about awakening others to the worlds of possibility lurking in us all.

This is the best book of the first three in the series. It's all in the details, and every bit worthy of the hype.
