I can’t believe I finished the whole thing. This piss- and shit-filled fictional biography of Hitler’s childhood focuses more on the narrator, a boring devil, and Hitler’s father than it does the main character, who is more interesting than anyone else in the book.

Awesome book. Very easy to read even though it's written by an academic and published by an academic press. The book does an excellent job at making history interesting and accessible to the masses.

Too much angsting over romance, which developed too fast and without much basis for it. So that didn't work for me. I like dragons so I gave it a chance and read the whole book despite it not pulling me in. The writing is ok, minus the angsting (it's 1person pov present tense). Would have been better, imo, with more draki backstory because that's the most interesting element for me. But we leave the other draki early on and there's only Jacinda and her mother and sister and it developes more into high school drama (which feels 'same old, same old'). Very little actually happens in terms of plot other than romance and with romance being pretty shallow as well, there isn't much to this book. The heroine is selfish and does some pretty stupid things - placing everyone else in danger because she's rebelious.... Not endearing. The hero is apparently very good at killing her people, which doesn't seem to bother her all that much... that does not make a good romance to me.

Somewhat of a tough read, but in the end worthwhile. Interesting story of a woman with cancer and how her cancerous cells were cultured and used in medical research. Her cells led scientists to realize that the cause of cervical cancer is the HPV virus.

This is a novel about the life of the Apostle Paul. It is true to the New Testament story and includes a lot of Paul's writings. The author created a "backstory" about Paul's family that is plausible but certainly fictional. There are some other fictional touches including a love interest. The focus is on Paul's spiritual development. It is well written.
