Disappointing. Irritating heroine who is immature, overly dramatic and stupid. Her blind acceptance of not being told anything about herself and her "special" abilities, her failure to notice or put 2 & 2 together about the hero and anything else in her life was so annoying. The hero is not much more interesting, lacks any depth of character and his treatment of Alex comes across as kind of condescending and patronising - especially not telling her any of his "secrets" then justifying it because Alex didn't tell him hers (this is a rubbish excuse given that he knew her secrets anyway and that telling her his would have made her feel secure to tell her own, which Alex quite reasonably thought would freak out someone who wasn't aware of special abilities. not realising he already knew all about them) The story was predominantly immature love struck ramblings of 2 dimensional characters and I could see no good reason for her mother not to give her some info, at least the amount they end up giving her anyway once her life is endangered.

I really liked this book. Mireille Guilliano really creates the images of a life you wish to have lived. Somehow her writing makes me believe her words so vividly that I feel they are my own memories--or maybe I just want her memories. If life was lived the way she explains, this would be a perfect world and I would be in heaven. This book is not just for dieters--in fact, I wish everyone would read it.
