Short, but pretty good! At first I couldn't help but compare it to The Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger because the story starts off with the hero stepping onto land from a dirigible, and it didn't compare favorably because Carriger's books are more fun and funny, but as soon as the hero arrived in the heroine's neighborhood and finally met her I was able to view this book more along its own merits, and it's not bad. Not bad at all. In addition to the romance and the paranormal and steampunk stuff, it's a bit of a mystery, and as a mystery, it's done fairly well — you're presented with enough clues and introduced to the individual (who later turns out to be the antagonist) early enough in the story that you don't feel like the answer comes from out of the blue; but at the same time nothing is given away so obviously that it's enough of a surprise at the revelation, making for a good Aha! moment. There's really not a whole lot more to say about the book as it's so short, except that as short as it is, I felt that it was complete enough with its story and character arcs to almost feel like a full novel.
