I thought this book was interesting, but could have been more engaging. The Courtesan world in Italy was fascinating, and could have been further developed. I wouldn't really recommend this book - not much of a page turner for me. But it was really nice to read some fiction and not text books!

This was a good book. It had a lot of detail that I could have lived without. I felt that there was too much detail on things that were not that important to the overall plot and not enough detail to the plot itself. It moved quickly but could have been a shorter read.

This was really an interesting idea. The frustrating thing is that its really just part one of a really long book thats been broken into parts. So the ending is a cliffhanger.

I was curious enough after the first book that I delved right into this second Faeriewalker book. The plot started off well enough to keep me interested. But while I like the writing style and I do generally tend to like most of the characters mid-way through the plot just started to drive me nuts with such ridiculous and contrived excuses for things to happen. Events just conveniently seem to get slotted into place to make this half-fae girl get herself into all of these outlandish situations where every single person she meets wants her for something. A lot of those situations had me roll my eyes dramatically and sigh and I plodded on. What also surprised me was that for a YA there was an unusual amount of sexy scenes - and talk of sex with a minor and a very-much of-age man-fae - and even attempted rape. While those adult scenes didn't particularly bother me, it just made for a much more older YA book as usually I don't hear of 16 year-old girls thinking about of-age man's penis. A bit risqué for YA. In general this series (trilogy?) is just starting to get on my nerves. Much as I loved the faeriewalker idea I wanted to know MORE about what it means to be a faeriewalker and LESS about who she wants to have sex with. Sorry. So that's the end of it for this series. I'm rather over it. Pass.

Meat Feast Thư viện Sách hướng dẫn

This collection of poems was a ton of fun to read! Unlike the typical picture book, the artwork in this is amazing! Not only are pictures drawn but actual photos are within each page making the poems much more interesting to read! Sometimes I feel the poems could get a little boring but over all this book was a lot of fun!

I have tried to get through this so many times and by the time I hit about 200 pages and we still haven't had anything fantastical happen, I have to put it down. It is a story about the historical and academic views of magic in England. Although well written, it is dry and not fantastically interesting.

My favorite series by Tamora Pierce. Who wouldn't love to talk with the animals!? First in the series has horses, the next Wolf-Speaker has wolves... better and better =)

This is a fantastic fantasy! Ms. Kerr created a great world with interesting magic and very believable characters. The story is very epic and I can see why it should be told over several books, but the first one told a complete story arc. I hate it when novels leave you with a cliff hanger. Daggerspell wrapped up most threads nicely yet it allows the greater adventure to continue. The only part I had a hard time with was how to say the names & places. They're based on Celtic & Welsh, which have a lot of double consonants and W's and Y's in odd places. The beginning of the book has a pronunciation guide but I still had trouble imagining how to say many things. Maybe if you've studied the language, or at least heard it spoken first it would make more sense. This isn't too much of a drawback, though, because most of the time when I read fantasy I have to come up with my own way of saying something because many fantasy names are odd to begin with. All in all, a great find! I can't wait to read more in the series.
