Fabulous book. Very sad but a must read for anyone in the medical or family services professions. Really makes you think about what it means to be "family centered" and about alternatives to Western Medicine.

Beautiful!! Poems I had forgotten, as well as familiar old friends. The crafting is simply gorgeous. I also love that the people are all different colors (races).

An amazing work of poetry by one of my favorite poets/spoken word artists. Many of her poems are about Palestine, as she is a Palestinian-American. The book even comes with a CD so you can hear her perform---she's absolutely brilliant.

I'm not sure if I want to give this book 3 or 4 stars... I had never really looked forward to reading it, but the main characters where surprisingly awesome. An eccentric old man makes a bet to travel around the world in 80 days because a newspaper article just came out saying that that was the minimum amount of time needed to do it. He leaves THAT NIGHT. How cool is that? The only part I didn't like is that when he was traveling across the US, he of course stopped in Utah and he just had some interesting things to say about the Mormons. I know not everyone likes us, but come on, at least show that you researched a LITTLE. Thats all I'm asking. That kind of stuff tends to drive me nuts, and this book probably would have been four stars for me except for that.

Read this novel in High School. Excellent read, and I highly recommend it. It shows the struggles of Man - the good and bad of what being Human is - and it shows what the idea of something can do for the spirit of the down-trodden and their hopelessness.
