جميل ، ومليء بالتفاؤل والقصص الجميلة ، لكن أسلوبه في الكتابة يحاكي أسلوب المتكلم ، فلا تستغرب إذا قرأت عبارات من نوع (نعمممممم لقد فزننننا :$ !! ) أنصح بقراءة الكتاب لمن لم يتعود على القراءة لأنه سيجد الكتاب ممتعاً وخفيفاً على النفس ، ولكن من حضر دورات الشيخ في الأخلاق النبوية فسيرى الكتاب مجرد تفريغ لهذه الدورات

Chuyện Tình Paris - Tập 2 Thư viện Sách hướng dẫn

All of her books have a feel-good quality about them. It might be too fluffy for some (Like Amy and Melanie) but I liked the characters and wanted to see how they came out of adversity. It was a fast, fun, absorbing read for me.

I have recently been interested in reading about the Philippines and Marcos' regime in the 1970's-1980's. I received this book for the Early Reviewers at Librarything.com and was amazed on how it was the perfect novel for me. This is Lucia Orth's first novel and it kept me reading until the last page. The novel takes place in the Philippines in the early 1980's when the United States is focused on keeping Communism out of the Philippines and keeping the US Military bases on the islands. Rue Caldwell, the wife of a US Diplomat, arrives to the island and begins to question what it is that her and her husband are doing there. Doming, their driver, has his own story that will let the reader feel the tension of the Philippine people. I love how the novel included many historical facts about the political climate of the time, along with excitement, espionage, and a love story. The novel is written beautifully with a lot of imagery and great characterization.

I probably should have read Kitchen Confidential first-- but I found this in a used book store so I started here instead. As others have noted, I found Bourdain to be totally full of himself. Maybe it's because I didn't read the first one, but he kept referencing some sort of a bad boy past strewn with the broken souls of people he's hurt and disappointed -- references that I didn't get. Bourdain should stick to writing about the food (which he usually does vibrantly) and leave out his own vague personal struggles and demons. _________________ NB: Wow! I really didn't like Bourdain when I first read him. After reading Kitchen Confidential and watching "No Reservations," however, I've grown quite fond of the smoking, drinking, tattooing world traveler. At the very least, I'm deeply envious of his life...
