I've enjoyed this book for a few years, I don't plan on actually finishing it- I pick it up to read interesting articles that are relevant to what I'm studying or just for curiosity.

You've heard of Benjamin Franklin. You know, the guy from like, the 1700s, you know, famous for being in the thunderstorm with the kite and the key, discovering electricity? Yeah, him. That guy. He's been dead for what, like three hundred years? Think again. -- Victor Godwin is smarter than most people he knows. Definitely smarter than the weatherman, who's predicted sunny days when Victor knows mathematically that there's a 92% chance of rain. A million times smarter than his best friend Scott Weaver, who made a super-charged potato battery by putting batteries inside of a raw potato and painting it exciting colors. (In case you are wondering, the potato explodes in the middle of class.) Then a thunderstorm that seems only to affect Victor's house changes everything. Soon a strange man who looks and dresses like Benjamin Franklin moves into Victor's house as a tenant. He says he's an actor, but he paid his entire first year's rent in heavy gold coins, marked 1783. What kind of actor never takes off his costume, and pays for things in eighteenth-century doubloons? Frank Benjamin, downstairs tenant at the Godwin's house, that's who. Then Victor discovers what's really going on...

Well, crap. Kenyon's done another one - the kind of book you feel guilty for reading because you KNOW it's cliche and not even very well written, from a technical standpoint. I mean, every chapter is like a re-write of the last one, at least as far as internal dialog. You know, "Why do I want her so much?/I can't have her/Oh my poor tortured soul etc, etc" But DAMMIT IF IT DOESN'T GRAB ME. So, apparently she's doing something right. Maybe it's her mastery of angst ridden immortals. Maybe it's the explicit(awesome)sex scenes. I have no idea. This is outside my norm. But... *sigh* I know I'll be reading another one soon...

I loved Backstage Pass so much, and when I started reading Rock Hard, I kept comparing the two stories. I could identify better with Myrna then with Jessica. Brian was so sweet, and Sed was more alpha and had more male dumb ass moments. I realized that if I kept comparing the two books, I was never going to like this book. So I started over. I still had more difficulty identifying with Jessica. I never had the problems she had dealing with people or men. I finally embraced her character when she kicked the groupies out of Sed's room. For me that is when I started embracing the story and became more invested in it. Sed and Jessica definitly have some scorching scenes together. Their romance was believable and the pacing was good. It took longer for me to get into their dramatic relationship. I loved the ending...it was perfect. I didn't put this book down either. I loved seeing a sexier side of Jace as well and really made me much more curious about his story. Trey was adorable as always. And poor loveable Eric is such a goofball. Brian and Myr were still adorable and made me want to read their story over. Over all, I didn't like this book as well as, Backstage Pass, but I did like it and I was rooting for Sed and Jessica to get their HEA. I highly recommend this book and this series. I can't wait for Jace's book now! OK, re-read both Backstage Pass and Rock Hard back to back which I didn't do before. I enjoyed it so much better. Wow, Jessica and Sed are smokin' Hot! I had to change my rating to 5.

Simply Brilliant. I will have to say that there were pages upon pages that may seem dry and difficult to get through at times, but overall, I loved this book and it actually changed the way I saw the world (huge, for me at least.) Simply a great piece of literature and a stunning peak into the mind of someone so unlike myself. I actually started thinking like the character. Dostoyevsky manages to convey Russian sentiments like no other.

Everyone should read this book and/or watch the PBS special by the same name. Anyone who raises or teaches boys could really benefit from this, especially since most of us on here are women. We've never been boys and this will help you gain an understanding of how they work. Read this book.

I read this book when I studied the expatriate writers (Lost Generation) in Paris. I found the most amazing little bookstore on Rue du Jacob; it was Le Petit Prince bookstore. I took a photo for Spielman, a friend who has shared her joy with me about this book.
