Children are curious. They love to ask questions! "Where Do Balloons Go?" is full of questions to ponder without any definite answers. It is a wonderful way to start the day, to get students thinking. I love this book because it makes me think. Some of these questions I have wondered before and others are new thoughts for me to ponder. Outside of the words, the illustrations alone are worth looking at. Each page contains abnormal occurrences, such as a breadstick going in one's ear and out the other. Be sure to put this is a "fun read" pile so students can imagine and dream up their own answers as well as look at the illustrations.
Politically charged and intriguing. The play is good as well, but missing some of the passion of the original novel.

I read this book to satisfy my curiosity about the kidnapping/capture of Jaycee Lee Dugard. She gave more details that I had expected, some were quite disturbing. She endured so much but despite that she seems to have put her life back together, and isn't filled with hate. This is a simple book to read, but inspriational. We can't choose the circumstances that we are given but we can choose how we will react to them.

I hate nothing more than a book where the author condescendingly explains every thought as though his/her reader couldn't keep up with the completely obvious conclusion they wanted you to draw. Because this author does that to an extreme, I can't give it any more than 2 stars, despite it's intriguing proposition of the true identity of Columbus.

What a fun anthology. I am an avid fan of vampire hunters, so it was nice to read a collection of stories about vampire hunters. Some of the stories are classic occult detective stories, and some are newer and more modern. Some of the vamp hunters are admirable, and a couple might just be crazy. Most conquer the evil vamps that they are hunting, but not all are so lucky. If you like a really good vampire story, and don't mind that the vamps are the bad guys, you should definitely read this anthology.

Okay...liked this book much better this time around. In fact, I had to Wiki it this morning to make sure all ended up okay for Maxim and the Heroine. I was more than a little irritated by the Heroine for most of the book- she was so timid but she came around at the end. Glad I re-read this!

This is, of course, a fine book. I do think that it should be required reading for high-schoolers. It was not too long, got to the point and was not too grafic, but painted a necessary picture that all peoples of the world must remember and know.
