This book made me want to cry...a lot. lol. But the overall message was extremely great and it really helped me understand just how ignorant we are when we attempt to comprehend the goingson of the Holocaust and the events that surrounded it. Now all I have left to do is watch the movie and bawl my eyes out. haha.

I have had this for 4 years on my shelf. Started it once and stopped. Picked it up again, needed a book. And after the first 40 pages couldn't put it down. Sad but very well written with great characters with real emotions. Would recommend to anyone.

Told in alternating voice between a popular (white) girl and a Hispanic gang banger, this was an entertaining read -- a sort of redone West Side Story. The voices, esp the guy's, were very authentic, I thought. But there was a too much sex, in my opinion, and guy sex talk and way too much gratuitous profanity. The book would've been stronger without most of it.
