I can't review it. It just is. As are all the Sandman books. They are and they are eternal.

Very good read. I loved how the heroine found her confidence and used it to get what she wanted.

Attempting to constrain a subjective theory well-being with objective standards can get to be quite a mess, not to mention rather paternalistic.

Great read. Barbara painted the Canadian Maritime scenery wonderfully. I could smell the salt air and feel the soft sand envelope my feet in the protected area of the New Brunswick beach. Her characters were realistically portrayed and you could empathize with each one of them. She spun her story in such a way that the real culprit wasn't even hinted at (in my mind anyway) until she was ready to give the slightest hint as to who it could be. In the end, all was tied up neatly. The sexual tension between Anna and Brent added to the suspense.
Hawk is a leader of a vampire's coven. He has a rule, never feed on innocent. So when Blade, one of his hunter, take back a young innocent man, Hawk is enthalled by this blond beauty. He calls him Dove. Dove is a twenty years old guy, innocent of life and sex. He has never known a lover and he is scared, but he is fascinating by this powerful vampire and knows that with him he will no more have fear. He wants to be with him forever, he wants to be a vampire. But Hawk is uncertain. He has just tried to make a vampire as his mate, but everytime the hunger for feeding upon prey and not only through his lover has averted his mate from him. He doesn't want to turn Dove and making so destroy his innocence. I like Dove. He is so tender and eager. He is willing to submit to Hawk, but only to him. He has a great passion inside him, but he wil uveal it only for Hawk, with others he is all blush and shyness. Even if Hawk is the master in this situazione, I think that Dove is a good example of topping from the bottom: with his love and his innocent face he will force Hawk to do all what he wants. The Taking of the Dove is a somewhat classical gay romance, with a strong alpha and a willing omega, but at the end you will ask yourself if the Hawk has taken the Dove or if the Dove has captivated the Hawk... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0016AAJ18/?...

As an adult, Helen Fremont learns that her family are not Roman Catholics but actually Jews. Her parents survived the holocaust and raised their children outside their faith to ensure that they were never persecuted. She mentions being taught the Lords Prayer in several languages so she would always be able to "prove" her Christianity. This was a compulsively readable book. I found I could not put it down. I even stood at the stove cooking with it in my hand. Her parent's past saddened me and I was troubled by how much pain they went through telling their tales. To me it really brought to life the terror of the holocaust. There are so many good discussions to be had about this book.

This was sent to me via a publishing rep, thinking it's the kind of book I would enjoy. It was! Very good first mystery about a couple of Army CID officers trying to solve a murder in post-war early 1970s Korea. Reminded me of Burdett's Bangkok series. This 20th anniversary edition will be on sale this summer and I will be looking for more of Mr. Limon's work.
