Just a lot of fun to read. About 25-30 year olds - straight and gay - searching for love and finding out who they are and what they want in life. Sort of like R rated Seinfeld.

Good for an occasional laugh, but little more. Neilan's short novel pays homage to the traditional crime novel and skewers corporate America, but the author is true to the title - too apathetic to push the narrative in any concise direction.

I have a lot of feelings right now and I don't know how to quantify them. Lauren Oliver, how can you play with my emotions like that? This book definitely lives up to it's name. It's chaotic and confusing. You feel Lena's fear and distress, which is a testament to the quality of the writing because much of the events were predictable. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I was still on the edge of my seat watching it go down. The back and forth structure adds to this feeling and created a sense of immediacy and tension throughout. Despite my love for the first book, I went into this one with only the fuzziest memory of what occurred. Since the settings and characters were so different, that turned out to be a non-issue. It did, perhaps, influence how I viewed the (view spoiler) For once,I couldn't hate the idea of a love triangle. Lena is a strong character and these are real people. Finding a one true love in this world, in these circumstances, at such a young age is not very likely and I'm interested to see how this goes down. All the characters are undergoing massive upheaval and I hope this will be reflected in their interactions with each other. Oliver's writing was as lovely and poetic as I had hoped for and she raised some really thought-provoking ideas regarding love and choice and freedom society. It's always enjoyable when an author can make the themes of a dystopian world seem relevant to our one. This was a good read, and I'm already looking forward to the next one. It just didn't quite hit the mark in terms of making an emotional impact or surprising me, so I can only give it four stars.

Little White Rabbit by Kevin Henkes is a simple short story about a bunny with an imagination. The little white rabbit wonders what it would be like to be green like the grass, to be tall as a fir tree, to not be able to move like a rock and to be abble to fly like a butterfly. For each flight of imagination, there is a two page spead. When the bunny encounters a cat, he's too scared to imagine anything, and quickkly hops home to his family, where he didn't have to imagine who loved hin. The text uses simple words and is repetitive, perfect for preschoolers. The illustrations are colored pencil and acrylic paint in pastel tones. Highlights are the two page spreads, the cover, and the final page, where only little white rabbit is awake, watching what appears to be a lightening bug. Stretch the story by having children come up with another imagination picture with rabbit. This simple, sweet, beautiful book will be a parent and preschooler favorite, and should be a solid read-aloud. For ages 3 to 5, preschoolers, read aloud, story-hour, Spring, rabbits, animals, imagination themes, and fans of Kevin Henkes.

Very cute little book. I read it in about 2 hours. I hope to be able to read it with Adri in a couple years. It's about a princess who is blessed by the fairy to be "ordinary" and how happy and content she becomes. Written in the 80's, it's not terribly p.c., but still better than the Disney versions and I thought it was very sweet.

Lots of cute humor, but nothing really revolutionary.

An All Amercan Boys story. Justin is the young coach of the high school football team. He is a good coach and he is gay. And these two things can't work in the little town where he lives, so he has decided to live in the closet and since five years he has not never had a lover. But his heart throbs for Luc, the father of one of his student. And now Luc has a stunning news for Justin: he is gay and he wants Justin in his life. But the town is not ready to have a gay coach near its sons... Justin and Luc are very plain and simple characters. They fall in love, they make love, they decide to live together, everything in a smooth way without drama or trouble. Drama and trouble are outside their home and could be a difficult situation. But Carol Lynne has decided to manage the situation with sharp edges and all ends fine, like in a very american dream. A short story from the new erotic publisher Total E-Bound. A good beginning, not extraordinaire, but satisfying. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1906590281/?...

My introduction to Calvino. A story about a spoiled 12 year-old boy who decides to spite his father by vowing never to set foot back on the ground, and actually follows through with it. A pretty tale that is not otherwise outstanding.
