Great book- a real page turner. And I'm usually not big on court room dramas... but it reads like a Sunday night movie of the week... Aw...remember those...

I LOVED this book for the first 400 pages - and then it lost me. I actually still haven't finished it and don't have much motivation to other than that the book remains sitting on my desk at work.

I think the only word to describe this book is haunting. It was a book that I didn't mind putting down but I loved being able to pick it back up. What an amazing story.

I'm going to have to get the rest of this series. It is really THAT good.
Drake, an 800+ year old vampire, and his demon halfling lover, Jessie have fled to Eagle River, Alaska. They are trying to out run the clutches of VETOV(Vampires for the Ethical Treatment of Other Vampires). Drake, who was once an Enforcer for VETOV has helped Jessie escape and now they both have a bounty on their head. Fortunately, vampires HATE the cold, and Drake has property in the area. So Eagle River should be perfect, right? Before they even get out of the car, they run across a murder scene. Seems Eagle River has a little problem with a serial killer. If that's not enough for our little trouble magnet Jessie, there's a large werewolf population in town and one just happens to be Gabe, a werewolf who kidnapped her while she was in Phoenix. His actions got him thrown out of his pack, and he is looking for revenge. Poor Drake and Jessie, these two just can't catch a break. Full review posted at http://www.ragesexandteddybears.blogs...

Not as painful as I thought it would be. I think Liz definitely improved as her journey grew longer. Quite annoying to start with. If it was balance she was looking for then I think she found it.

Russinovich, one of the top tech guys Microsoft, crafts a novel based on the premise that our society could easily be brought down by hacking into computers controlling everything from nuclear power plants to patients' medication in hospitals. Just as scary is the idea that it would be difficult to stop. Maybe I've seen too many action movies this summer but I wanted the action in this book to start sooner than it did. The lead up and coming together of the various threads was interesting but a bit slow.
