Is it fiction is it real??? So hard to tell because the content is so unbelievable and entertaining and to top it off the writing is great. I am going to try to get Erik to read this cause the writing is so good.

Un livre à lire sur la route, entre deux gouffres existentiels, pour se rappeler qu'il existe des percées de lumière dans tout ce qui nous échappe. Un petit bijoux :-)

Maybe I just need books to be more uplifting, but after wanting to read this book for almost a decade when I finally got down to it, I just didn't get much out of it.

Sidehe's Call is a breath of fresh air when it comes to another addition to the coming of age/supernatural young adult genre. I'm fed up with the vampire/werewolf/zomie stuff; it's all so repetitive. Sidehe's Call managed to open up a whole new realm of supernatural beings that are developed, entertaining, and exciting. Even though she is a Ban-side, Morgan could be "every girl" in the fact that she has to convince those around her that she is a strong, independent young woman, capable of fulfilling prophecies. The fact that she faces her journey with a colorful array of monsters, transformations, and magic only adds to the adventure and anticipation in the novel. I highly recommend Sidhe's Calling . . . my one hangup with the series is the fact that the second and third books still aren't published yet, and I'm not a patient person. However, I'm willing to wait for the Keening Trilogy!

Oh my!!! The brothers are awesome!....and Sin is a new favorite female character! Love the story line twists and that we never leave the main characters- just add new ones to the mix!

Didn't agree with the ending, but this is one of the most gorgeous books I have ever read, in terms of the sheer beauty of the prose.

Mel is finally dating her long-time crush, one of the brothers of Angie, one of her business partners in the Fairytale cupcake bakery. Angie has long been carrying a torch for their third partner, Tate, who refuses to notice her as anything but a friend. Now Angie has a date with a rock star who may be a murder suspect. (See, I told this was a mystery!) Since one of the other main suspects is Mel's widowed, slightly naive mother, that's enough reason for Mel to go into detective mode, dragging Tate, a wealthy business executive, helter-skelter after her. Between looking for suspects, trailing Angie to make sure she's safe, fending off a hunky police detective who may have a personal interest in Mel, and--oh, yes, running the bakery and baking cupcakes, Mel has her hands full and then some!

Don't go to the Colosseum at night - it's malaria time! Also watch out for men with terrible lapels. They're just no good. Interesting bagatelle.

Tight, terse, gripping. The final fight scene is a heartstopper. If I have one complaint, it's about the Britishisms. Kitamura's writing about all-American dudes, here, people who'd never say, "I've not seen him" instead of "I haven't seen him."
The first 100 pages or so are very slow and difficult to get through, but once you do, the plot is quite good.
