This is a good book if you want something without all that 'bad stuff' they put in books now a days. I highly recomend this book!

Lady Emily Southwell and her three best friends - Priscilla, Ariadne and Daphne - are known together as La Petite Four. Following their graduation from the Barnsley School for Young Ladies, they decide to plan the best coming-out ball of the season for Emily’s debut into Regency England society. What wasn’t part of the plans, however, was Emily’s father betrothing her to the horrible Lord Robert. Emily and her friends are determined to find some way to stop the engagement. They decide to investigate Lord Robert to see if he is involved in anything that would cause Emily’s father to want to cancel the betrothal. Their investigation leads to adventure, danger, and an unexpected romance for Emily. La Petite Four is a light and entertaining historical romance for teens set in Regency England. The mystery is a bit predictable as it is rather obvious from the beginning that Lord Robert is up to something sinister. However, it is still an enjoyable story that should appeal to readers looking for a quick and fun historical read, and who enjoyed books such as The Season by Sarah MacLean, Bewitching Season by Marissa Doyle, and The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen.

I am about 70 pages in and really enjoying this. I like the present tense narration he uses. I am beginning to think I might use the present tense when I write autobiographically. I enjoyed Angela's Ashes too, as depressing as it was. I may read it again when I finish this. I have a goal to read at least three non-fiction this year so this is number one. I might like some recommendatins on other non-fiction - not too complicated, technical or DEEP. Dave? I am glad I read this book. I need to hear a little bit about happy endings in this world, even though sometimes it takes a long time and a lot of pain to get there.

One Sentance: This will move you in the core of your existance. Absolutely beautiful.

I liked it. What a great love story. I wasn't hooked from the first sentence - it took a few to get oriented with all the back and forth and such, but once I was hooked I was way hooked. Henry goes back and forth in Time - meeting Clare when she is very young, and visiting her from the future until they meet in the present and marry and spend their life together. He time travels, she waits. It's unique and beautiful.

A classic of travel literature. What I cannot emphasize enough is the level of absurdism that any contemporary modern day traveller will read into Byron's actions while exploring the middle east. The hilarity of his interactions with his own British compatriots and those native to the countries in which he imposed himself is what drew me in to this narrative. I tended to skim the architectural bits.

Are you trying to kill me? Now I need to go find a full-length biography of Joan Baez. *sigh*
