Update: 10/1/2015 I read this book back in 2011 and gave it 4 stars. I want re-read this book again and see if I would still give it 4 stars. 10/26/2015 I give this book 5 stars because I love the dark, brooding Highlander and his strong, intelligent independent woman, Chloe. It also has Adam Black, a mischievous elf, in it who has appeared in previous stories in this series.

I listened to this book as an audio book in just two days! I loved it and couldn't stop listening to each of Novella's adventures on her urban farm. This book will appeal to anyone who lives in the city and yet pines for a life "back on the land". I had never heard of an urban farmer before this book and it has opened my eyes to so many possibilities beyond growing tomato plants on a balcony. This book has a perfect balance of humour, societal insight, and practical advice on urban farming. I am most definitely going to read the author's blog to continue enjoying her great writing and fun anecdotes!

Interesting story, but I'm not quite sure this title deserves the label as a Christian novel. I won't recommend it to anyone.
Wow, such fun. Shakespeare is reworked to include all the best elements of several plays. No boring parts. I had tried to read King Lear a month or 2 before reading The Fool. I got bogged down by the 2nd act. Moore has taken license to make the story much better; funny and entertaining.

She captures the essence of what it is like for people coming to the US to give their children a better life as well as that of the children trying to adjust. Of course I can only assume that being I have lived here all my life.

This book is more of a hop or jump through the history of footwear than a walk. Lawlor groups her information by the type or purpose of the shoe, and while this allows for sharing interesting facts and anecdotes about shoes, I'd really been hoping for more of a chronological exploration of the subject. How and why did footwear evolve in different civilizations? If I were to drop into 9th century China or Peru in B.C. 600, what would everyone be wearing? While I have a better understanding of some of the roles shoes have played at moments in their history, my grasp of the whole of that history is still shaky at best.

I was intrigued until I was hopeless bored. Maybe just not in the mood for repeated digressions into physics and quantum theory. The narrative just kept fracturing on me as soon as I had gotten interested again. Not finished. Oh well.

This book was written for an eight year old and then they go and use big words and other languages. And it was kinda boring. I couldn't really read the book fast, I had to put it down because of boredom.
