I'm reading this one right now. Although I think this one it's made especially for the girls about what the right guy to choose, it brings some interesting questions to think like...where all this scientific evolution will gonna lead us to? We are turning more inteligent or more cold in our relationship with the world? So...I'm enjoying the reading and I think that's a new breath in the current tennage books.

I remember loving this book. It is beautifully written and it was fascinating to learn more about the geisha's and the Japanese. However, I can't remember much more than that.

I really enjoyed this continuation of Shanghai Girls! I'm fascinated by Mao's China, and reading about Joy and Pearl in this time and place was compelling. Their stories were both heart-breaking and heart-warming.
This is another Follett masterpiece. Historical fiction at its finest. I can't wait to get to book two in the trilogy.
I read this in high school and absolutely loved it. I wonder if I would hate it if I read it again?

The book is very personal as Siri Hustvedt tries to understand the shaking fits that come to her in certain situations. The strength of the book are these personal parts in which she talks about the fits and about her relationship to her father. The weakness of the book are the many digressions about mental illness in general by which the Siris voice sometimes gets lost as well as the focus of what is being told. Interesting, though, to read about different theories on nervous and mental illness, particularly in women, from hysteria to more modern ways of describing it.

The best book I've read about the Wizard of Oz. Just who was the Wicked Which of the West? The pre- and retelling of L. Frank Baums classic tale of Dorothy in the land of Oz. Except better.

Good - interesting read once you get used to his style...interesting topic too (the trauma of war and genocide set in Sri Lanka)
