Văn Hoá Phương Đông Về 12 Con Giáp Thư viện Sách hướng dẫn

Sách được viết bởi Bởi: Phong Sinh

I loved this book. I'm descended from the Mayflower. Digerie or Degory Priest was my Pilgrim. His daughter Mary married a crusty old sailor, Phineas Pratt, thereby spreading Pratt's far and wide. I get the biggest kick out of being related to someone who knew Squanto! Until I figured that out, the Mayflower meant little more to me than that I got Turkey on Thanksgiving. Then you start to figure out that when they got here, there was nothing but woods, and it was freaking freezing, and there was no store to get what you need....I really enjoyed this book, because it takes you on to what happened after they got thier fort built. IF I was King Philip, I'd be pretty pissed off too. I thought it was interesting to see how the second generation and the third morphed into priveledged creeps that totally took advantage of the Indians, that the initial pilgrims had worked so hard to keep the peace with. Somewhere on the internet, I read a letter someone found in a drawer when they bought a piece of furniture at auction. It was written by one of my Pratt decendants from Cohasset, pleading her case, since her husband had been killed in the (King Phillip's) war, she shouldn't be made to send her son as well. When I was a kid I used to have nightmares about defending my home against indians...King Philips war was all over where my family came from. My grandmother always told me I came from good stock, meaning hardy, now I guess I know what she meant!
