I have been meaning to read this book for a long while, and I'm glad that I finally got around to it. This is an excellent depiction of depression and I felt myself really sucked into Melinda's melancholy. I also found the feelings described to really resonate with how I felt about a lot of my high school 'career.' Melinda's unreliable first-person narration was fascinating to me. She describes people as being friendly to the point of being annoying in many cases. It's only as the book progresses, that you start to realize she is biased because she's so down. This is a very solid good book. It's nothing I'd want to read over and over; the depression is just too real! However, it tells a deeply painful tale of Melinda's life, and was excellently written.

I have to say I was rather disappointed with this book.One of the main things that really annoyed me was the fact that she has ANOTHER guy after her.How many boyfriends does one girl need???One other thing that annoyed me was how throughout the first half of the book all Zoey does is sum up Untamed.

A very intriguing novel, I loved the concept behind this book and how the author worked in Lysistrata so perfectly. I really liked Willa and Ruth, two of the main characters whose thoughts are in within differing chapters of the novel. I was really glad the novel ended well and with no cliff hangers!

whenever i ran out of books to read i used to read all of my dad's books from high school and college. half the time i was too young to really get anything from them (catcher in the rye certainly made more sense as a teenager than it did at 10), but i still enjoyed them. this was one of the books on my parents' shelf that i used to pull down and read over and over. probably the best collection of mythology i've read. highly recommended.

When Stephen King writes stuff other than horror he is literally King. It contains four short stories. There have actually been made movies of three of them. The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me are both wonderful. I felt so good while reading this.
