This was a good book. I liked some of the ideas and the half-assed acronym of SUCES(s). Although, it's only been 2 days and I can't remember exactly what it stands for. Guess some ideas just aren't as good at sticking as others. :)

Confidently stepping into territory Mo Willems has been dominating in recent years, Cat Secrets speaks directly to its audience. An audience that will be quite delighted. Can you prove you’re a cat? Because that’s what you’ll have to do if you want to read Cat Secrets. A trio of felines administer tests to determine if the reader is a cat. Meowing and purring ensue, but the third and final test (napping) proves to be the cats undoing. The simplistic cartoon illustrations are an excellent match for the comedic text. Although the ending is a bit abrupt, this book is well-suited for read aloud settings, and will find plenty of kids eager to join in he fun. -T Agree with T here --Loved this book and so did my all-ages story time listeners! It pairs well with "There are Cats in this Book."~s

Celia West is Bait Girl, the Captive Wonder, daughter of the two most famous superheroes in Commerce City. She's been kidnapped so many times that she doesn't even bother getting scared. She has no powers of her own and ended up becoming a forensic accountant. In that role she is asked to help in the trial of Destructor, who like his name, likes to destroy. Like Al Capone, they're trying him for tax evasion. When Cecilia was 17, desperate for attention, she went to work for Destructor. It was all hushed up. But now she looks like public enemy number one. This should be optioned as a film as it was drawn just like an old style comic book, except better. It was like reading a Batman book. These superheroes felt familiar even though they weren't. Their actions felt natural and Celia was a fascinating anti-hero. All she ever wanted was for her father to be proud of her. It's when she stopped trying to please him that she started to shine. As easy and enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a very poignant yet original love story. It was a tad confusing at first with all the time jumping but once I got used to the format, it wasn't a problem. It was a very enjoyable read.

Don't let the name fool you. This is actually a western. A post-modern retelling of the shootout at the O.K. Corral.
