I don't know what it is that attracts us most and makes us laugh in this book of Jeffry Archer! Is it the ingenuity with which the American millionaire of dubious nature getd himself milked off the million dollars he surreptitiously stole from 4 people in London or the way they got it back from him using similar methods. The book is very much readable.

We all have secrets that need to be shared with those we love because -- in doing so -- there is understanding, acceptance and an even stronger bond. Kristy Kiernan's writing is pure magic as she tells a tale of relationships -- ones we can relate to -- and captures the essence of how all individuals are "relative" geniuses or not.

This is the eighth novel in Griffin’s Badge of Honor series and the third that I have read. As usual with Griffin, you do not have had to read the preceding novels, as he more or less tells you everything that has happened so far, and all you lose is the fun of reading all the details. Still, this is the sequel to The Investigators, and I would recommend reading that one before this, if only to get the continuity. This one again features Matt Payne, here promoted to Sergeant in the Homicide Division, but includes all the other characters that rum through the series and also introduces a few new ones, with a hint that we will see them again in the sequel to this book—the very luscious Officer Olivia Lassiter and the equally attractive Terry Davis, who is a promotional agent for Stan Colt, a somewhat egotistical movie star. As usual, too, this novel includes all of the things that I find wrong with Griffin--his penchant for using full names preceded by long official titles, simulated reproductions of published text, etc.--but, as I have said before, all that pales in view of the fact that he tells a good story. I could not put the book down, even though there were many other things I wanted to do and had to do. The book starts off by introducing us to a truly nasty pervert who enjoys terrorizing women all over the country as a hobby, along with two murderous young blacks who engage in wanton killing as part of their stickup routine, together with a postcard from a murderer who jumped bail and fled the country years ago. Isn’t this a great way for Matt to start his first day as a Sergeant? What he gets stuck with, however, is the task of babysitting a visiting movie star who has come for a visit to raise money for the Catholic high school but has a penchant for very young girls; Matt’s job is to prevent fans from tearing the clothes off the movie star, while simultaneously making sure the movie star does not take the clothes off any young ladies. I have heard servicemen who were in the Pacific in World War II who protest that the war was nothing like what Griffin described; I suspect most members of the Philadelphia Police department would assure us that current-day police work is nothing like this, either--but it’s a hell of a good story.

This self-help book has me written all over it. As a life time sufferer of anxiety, I am often plagued by fear. I hope to gain new courage from Jeffers' book, written in the late 80's.

i didn't love it and I didn't hate it. It had some really great analogies and some really weird ones too.

Another good airplane book. VERY long 604 pages. I probabaly would not have stuck with this one if I had not been on a plane for so long. It is an engaging story with some good history thrown in about the reconstruction days of Kansas woven throughout which I was pretty rusty on. It took a long time to get engaged in the story though because of the complexity of the characters and the ramily relationships. So save this for a good long plane trip or a beach vacation.
i have seen the movie and it is about these girl that sleep with king trying to produce an heir to the thrown finally when mary does the king doesn't want anything to do with her and it is all annes fault. watch the movie to find out more.

This book is kind of a cross between the Killer Critter brand of horror that was popular in the 1950's, and post-apocalyptic fiction, which still seems to be popular today. It's a rather strange book, and the idea of murderous plants as the major threat is a little bit more silly, on the surface, than frightening. But Triffids succeeds at being creepy, even so.

Just finished it in two days. Well, I had to for my grad test, but I thought it was great. Not only is it close to home(SF) but I now have a better understanding of the cultural struggles, fallacy of the Am Dream etc. Sorry I know this is a bad review...I'll update when I have more time. Read this book.
