The is a fascinatingly morbid series. I couldn't put it down. I loved reading it. I love even more that I'm done.

Another beautiful story, this one involves a coma and a woman who has a second chance at life. I couldn't put this one down, one of Kristin Hannah's best.

This was strange. I need to go back to it. I learned stuff that I wasn't sure was truth or fiction. I liked the confusion and the postmodern presentation, but I'm not sure I enjoyed the book. Maybe I should read it alongside the female edition...

More of a novella than a novel, an interesting story of a naive boxer who comes down from Northern California and -- naivete intact -- conquers the boxing world. Along the way he is exploited by agents, etc., but is too trusting to know it. He meets a young female sportswriter who opens his eyes, wins one final glorious match, and leaves for the country. Huck Finn as boxer . . . and it's hard to believe that Malamud didn't read this book before he wrote THE NATURAL.

AMAZING! I love Jacqueline Carey, her writing is amazing, always. This books proved that she has talent and can use this to constantly surprise and amaze me. I hope she continues writing this series, but it's been 9 books and 3 generations, so I'm not sure how much longer she will keep this up.

Gabby, God's Little Angel by Shelia Walsh Illustrated by Marina Fedotova Synopsis This first book in a delightful new series offers a comforting message for young readers-God loves you very much and is always watching over you! What little girl wouldn't love her very own guardian angel? Parents and children alike will be won over by this humorous tale of Gabby, a guardian angel in training who has much to learn about taking care of God's little ones. Her new assignment is to protect a young girl named Sophie, but Gabby soon realizes that watching after Sophie is a bigger challenge than she had expected! After a close call while riding her pony, Sophie learns what the Bible says about guardian angels: "He will put his angels in charge of you. They will watch over you wherever you go" (Psalm 91:11 ICB). My Review I loved this book. Shelia Walsh is an awesome author. Her writing style make it easy for children to understand and relate to the story. The illustrations are amazing, so colorful and bold like you could just reach into the story. the pictures really make the story come alive. an adorable story that teaches children how angels watch over us. The colorful pictures are sure to capture a child's attention. My kids fell in love with it. I recommend this for children of all ages.

OMG SO SCARY. Not as in horror movie, but as in totally freaky. The whole time my heart hurt for the poor kid and it reinforces the idea that adults can't be trusted. Cormier is a fantastic writer with amazing, horrible endings.

Bought this last year to release on Bookcrossing. I thought I'd make it to another showing of Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest. But I never made it to see it in the theaters again. So I'm reading it right now and will probably release it at AWE - assuming I make it to that again.

Delightful, quick read. Agnes grew up with her father as a clergyman of the north of England and a mother who walked away from the wealth of a family to marry. After Agnes’ father lost their savings in a business adventure, Agnes is employed as a governess. The story relates her experience while being a governess for the Bloomfields' and then the Murray family. This story is written first person, journal style. So it is full of musings, deliberations and dreams. A few of my favorite passages: “I have given myself up to the luxury of an unrestricted burst of weeping. But this was a weakness I did not often indulge: my employments were too numerous, my leisure moments were too precious, to admit of much time being given to fruitless lamentations.” “When we hear a little good and no harm of a person, it is easy and pleasant to imagine more” “We have had trials, and we know that we must have them again; but we bear them well together, and endeavor to fortify ourselves and each other against the final separation-that greatest of all afflictions to the survivor; but, if we keep in mind the glorious heaven beyond, where both may meet again, and sin and sorrow are unkown, surely that too may be borne; and meantime, we endeavor to live to the glory of Him who has scattered so many blessings in our path.” "Our modest income is amply sufficient for our requirements; and by practicing the economy we learnt in harder times, and never attempting to imitate our richer neighbors, we manage not only to enjoy comfort and contentment ourselves, but to have every year something to lay by for our children, and something to give to those who need it.”
