One of my favorites from childhood. A few years ago I started reading it to my kids, and last year my oldest started reading it to his brothers without me!

I liked this companion story to "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" quite a bit. While I do not share all of Sheila Tubman's secret fears myself, the feeling of fear (and wishing that oneself would not be so afraid of so many things) was readily accessible, for me and surely for most readers. The events moved along at a nice, brisk pace, and I just enjoyed this book throughout. Well done.

I so enjoy catching up with the latest heart pattering of Ms. Brockman's men and their women. The story was fast paced and as always sexy, witty and a fun couple hours of reading enjoyment.

He wanders way to much. It would be on topic and then all of a sudden you had no idea how you got where you were. I was really disappointed.

A great book for getting a glimpse of what the war was like for the American troops, which increased my general understanding of the course of the post-Normandy war in Europe as well. Extensively researched, the book draws on thousands of personal accounts, diaries, letters, and oral histories from men on both sides of the war. It was packed with moments and anecdotes so amazing I simply had to repeat them to my poor unsuspecting friends. The reader is good for this particular book, with creditable accents for the various regions the GIs came from, German and British accounts, and even a fair Patton impersonation.

I loved the dual stories of an American woman and an Indian man who adopt an Indian girl and of her birth parents struggles in India. The author deals thoughtfully with issues of adoption but I wish she had taken on issues of an inter-cultural marriage more than superficially.
