I loved this book almost as much as her first book. She draws you in with her dreamy and mysterious style similiar to Alice Hoffman in her ability to draw the reader into the setting. It's like being in the room and watching the story unfold. Nice story with deep character.

The Whole Story of Half a Girl is a superb coming-of-age book by Veera Hiranandani that allows the reader to view how a young girl learns about her identity. We meet Sonia, the main character, right at the end of her fifth grade year. Sonia has been attending Community, a private school that is rich with diversity, has intimate class sizing and no formal grades; all of which encourages each student to learn at their own pace. She looks forward to having the same teacher for sixth grade as well as remaining with her best friend, Sam. Right before summer Sonia learns that her father has lost his job and therefore can no longer afford for her to attend Community. She begins sixth grade at public school and is confronted by questions of her cultural and social identity immediately. I completely recommend this book for young readers. It allows a very realistic look into how pre-teens deal with different social situations using believable characters and situations.

The life of Buddha. Does a good job of enlightening the reader, but yet my idea of nirvana is not nothingness.

This was a deeply moving book.... causes the reader to re-examine our relationships, past and current...... even better than 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven'.

I found this book to be extremely interesting. Plame-Wilson was in the news a few years ago and involved in a political scandel that got a lot of attention in the media. Hearing her story in her own words was captivating!

Come by my blog, Forever Lost in Books, for MORE reviews, giveaways, interviews and memes! Actual rating : 3.5/5 stars My Opinion : So, first, let me tell you, this isn't my genre of books. This is an autobiography, and it was my first ever in this genre! I only read it because I could get it for free at the library, and that Miley Cyrus is in my favorite artists. As I read the first pages, I thought; Wow! Miley Cyrus has developed a degree of literacy! I liked to see how she got to be the big star she now is. Anyone who dreams of being a superstar; you ought to read the book.
I wanted to love this book but it's sooooo slow in parts. Took me forever to finish it. Cut out about half of the book and it'd be pretty good.

Where the River Runs is a story of a "perfect" woman from a "perfect" family who, after building a model life in Atlanta, returns to her hometown of Seaboro, South Carolina to come to grips with her history and rekindle the spirit of the lively girl she used to be. Meridy McFadden Dresden had tamped down memories of her first love until her mother calls with news that makes her remember. Guilt compels her to go home and try to make things right. With family dynamics galore, dear friends, and a wonderful woman named Tulu, this is not a book to miss if you like lazy reads that make you laugh and cry.

This book was not what I expected, but had all the Fannie Flagg charm. Can the subject of suicied be light and fluffy? In this book it is, and I laughed and enjoyed this quick read.
