Good start to an interesting new series. Since, I had just read Enchanted, I saw a lot of similar elements. These themes seem to have been on the author's mind for some time. I like the magic system, mostly. I am not sure I enjoy systems when there seems to be no price to using the magic. That said, the characters were interesting. This is definitely a young adult type book.

I can't get into this book!
Strange. Very strange. I really don't even know how to classify this... a grieving father and his dying daughter create an imaginary land with bedtime stories, and then the land becomes real and allows her to go on living there healthy even after she appears to die here. The first 40% of the book was unbelievably boring; most of what happened in the imaginary land was dull and lifeless; the daughter's mom needed a slap during the whole book; and the ending confused me because if it was the girl's made up world, how come other people could go there, and who on earth was that Gage character??

this is one of the first books i remember obsessing about. i didn't want it to end. i reread it so many times and then read all the sequels. i wanted to be meg. this had to be the book that jumpstarted my love for science fiction and fantasy. it's still a great mind-expanding read.

Another Agatha Christie mystery that I hadn't read for many years. I again truly enjoyed the book. I did see the movie that was made from this book, starring Elizabeth Taylor and enjoyed it equally much.

After reading the Davinci code and watching National Treasure, this book was a perfect fit of learning the history of the freemasons. I learned that the Pope was the creator of Friday the 13th and our current popes still fear the free masons and their groups. The famous americans listed are nice tidbit to add.
After reading "Elfshadow" I was intrigued to see what else would happend to Arylin and Danilo, and was a little dissapointed that Arylin only appears at the beginning of the book and that her role is inconsequential to the overall story. Yet "Elfsong" is a powerful, witty and smart tale that made me savor every page from beginning to end. Elfsong is not a stand alone adventure about Danilo Thann; rather, it sets him on the spotlight of a plot that endangers the past, present and future of Faerun. A strange spell is making bards forget the great heroic deeds of the past while the Lords of Waterdeep are being mysteriously attacked. To make matters worse, Danilo is forcet to become allies with "The Serpent" Craulnobber in recovering an artifact that ca save the city of Waterdeep, despite Elaith's hidden agenda. The book is filled with songs, prose and riddles as Danilo and his company attempt to save Waterdeep form a great catastrophe launched by a disgruntled sorceress. I found that I enjoyed Danilo even more in this book. I found it a relaxing read compared to Elfshadow and I found the mystery even more appealing, although the conclusion was much more simpler than the other book, which I found a little let down. Overall, it was a great read.
Sooo good!

Wow. I loved this book. Loved it. I am immediately moving on to the next one. The secondary characters are fabulous. And Ethan. I can't really decide if I like him or not. I guess time will tell....

¡Ack! Solo quiero dar esa advertencia a mi crítica malhumorada.
