It's no secret that I'm a huge Pamela Clare fan. In her new I-Team novel (to be released May 3, but I was lucky enough to get an early peek) the magic is back and hotter than ever. Natalie, who's always been somewhat reserved and quiet, explodes to the forefront when she's captured while visiting Mexico. And then she meets Zach. ~dreamy sigh~ Pamela writes some of the hottest men around and Zach is no exception. He's going to give the rest of the I-Team guys a run for their money. Natalie is kidnapped by a drug cartel currently running amok in Mexico and taken to a compound to be held until further notice. Some of her past comes back to haunt her as she's trapped in a dingy cell, only to hear a voice in the darkness which becomes her lifeline. Together they have to figure out a way to break out of this compound and escape across the desert back into the US. The voice belongs to Zach McBride and Natalie has to decide if he's one of the good guys or bad guys. Then she has to decide if the answer to that question really matters since he's the only one who can get her safely back home. The majority of the previous Heroes and Heroines make an appearance and the action is HOT. Both the suspense and the *other* type of action. I can't recommend this book enough.
be patient and study know the words "isomorphisms" and "stange loops".

One of the best books in the Rick Brant series from the mid-20th century. In this one Rick and his pal Scotty head out to the Sulu Sea area south of the Philippines in an attempt to search and rescue two of the scientists from the Spindrift Laboratories who went out there on an expedition and have disappeared. Lots of action and adventure with the modern day Moro pirates who terrorize the Sulu Sea all culminating in a thrilling oh-so-dangerous rescue attempt that gets you turning pages faster than all get-out. Check my review for the Wallace Boys book THE SULTAN OF THE SULU SEA by Duncan Watts. These two books are very similar and it's great to be able to read them back to back.

What an eyeopener! This book really put me in touch with what goes on in these radical "religious" organizations. It is one thing for adults who buy in to the extreme lifestyles, but the children who are raised in that environment are victims of their parents decisions. Elissa Wall lived that life but something deep down inside of her knew it wasn't right. She gives us a look inside the Fundimental Latter Day Saints beliefs.

This is the book before A Darker Justice, which I read last year. In this one, Atlanta assistant DA Mary Crowe is returning to the scene of her mother's murder for the first time in fourteen years. In the North Carolina mountains, she and her friends come across unexpected danger. I picked this author because she sets the stories in an area not far from here, but I've grown attached to the main character (Mary) and how her upbringing contrasts with her current life.

I really enjoyed reading this. It's a lot like reading her blog, Orangette, so I can't say that I just sat and read it all at once, but I admire her ability to talk about her life and food at the same time. I highly recommend the mustard vinaigrette on page 264 (buy the good mustard for this as she recommends).
