I read this book on an annual basis. This book is one of my favorites and I find myself reading yearly and seeing new interesting aspects each time. It is a great book for all ages and truly is exceptional. The social content in this book is something that all people should understand. The way things are, aren't always the way they have to say, the main characters father, Addicus, truly shows how compassion and education are features that can make you into a better person.

Loved this book. Found it very hard to put down. Really showed the complex interworkings of society, the law of the time, tradition, roles of the sexes, and the role marriage played in keeping women financially stable to survive along with men sometimes married women of financial means in order to keep their entailed family estates functioning. An excellent depiction of the time, convoluted communication styles and societal expectations.

The story itself was intriquing, but it was very drawn out (the book was 700 pages). I would only recommend it if you have the patience and like longer books.

This was a very heart warming book. Full of wisdom and self check items with a little puzzle to solve as well. Definitely worth reading.

Intense read. Contains the most romantic passage I've ever read: "Neurotic, ha!" I let out a scornful laugh. "If neurotic is wanting two mutually exclusive things at the same time then I'm neurotic as hell. I'll be flying back and forth between one mutually exclusive thing and another for the rest of my days" Buddy put his hand on mine. "Let me fly with you." However, Bell Jar is not to be mistaken for some uplifting love story. It's about one woman's insecurities, anxieties, frustrations. She kills herself in the end. Not for the faint-hearted or clinically depressed.
This book was pretty funny and I did enjoy it but I have to say that it was not as good as I expected it to be.

Before Devil in the White City, Larson wrote this non-fiction, historical thriller. Highly recommended, although the meteorology parts did bog me down at the start.

A beautiful story about blackmail, murder love and family. I am really glad this book was chosen for me in the gang bang challenge as I think it would have just sat on my shelves for ages. It's the first one I have read by R J Scott and I loved every second of it. they are a lot of in depth reviews already so I will just say that if you liked Dallas you will love this book.

It's been a while since I read the first novel and I was happy to learn that the library was going to buy the second book. It took me a while to remember what happened in the first book, and the relationships within Rue's circle of friends. This is a decent book, and it is quite dark, which seems to fit Naifeh's illustrative style. Though sometimes it turned me off, or made it hard for me to recognize some characters. So, yes, a decent book, one I'm glad to have borrowed instead of bought. Also, it was a quick read, so I didn't feel a loss of time or regret over the time spent reading it, like I do with some other horrid books or movies I watched.
