Normally I don’t gush about books…but I seriously loved this one!! It had such a great balance of romance, dry humor and action. I just finished reading the Mortal Instruments and I was worried it was going to be another copy of that with different characters but it was nothing like that series, except for the appearance of Magnus Bane, the Lightwoods and Waylands too which was really cool to read about, after just finishing the ‘City of Glass’. I really liked Tessa, I thought she was very consistent character and a really interesting female lead, without being too ‘badass’ or too ‘weak’. I find most female leads tend to fall into one of those categories (not that that’s a bad thing, especially badass female characters but it’s nice seeing someone written with balance) and I am glad to say I couldn’t find any similarities between her and Clary. I did find some similarities between Will and Jace Wayland though….which was a little annoying. Again, they are both jerks but they have soft sides which is suppose to make me like them…and its not like I hate Will or Jace, they were both well written, but I don’t know, I was actually hoping Tessa would end up liking Jem. I thought it was so sweet when they met while he was playing violin, he’s like a little lost puppy. And she always helps him with his illness…I don’t know, I guess for once it would be so awesome if the author made the main character NOT fall in love with the jerk-badass main character and perhaps his sweet, caring best friend? Anyway I am actually really really really excited for the Clockwork Prince!! I can’t wait till it comes out 
