Very enjoyable. I could hardly put the book down. A few twists in the story kept things interesting. I like how princess Ani goes through struggles but learns from them and changes they way she looks at them as blessings. Great read!

This book takes place in Panem which used to be north America.Each year during the reaping each district (Katniss is from district 12)send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen a 16 year old girl lives with her mother and younger sister Prim in the lower class part of town called the Seam. But this year Prims name was drawn and Katniss offered to take her sisters place in the games. So she and Pets Mellark (the other boy from district 12) were then chosen to take place in the hunger games. The hunger games were created by the capitol to show the people of the districts that the capitol is in charge they can do what ever they want and the people could do nothing about it.

This was a short, quick read - The subject is horrifying of course. I don't know how anyone can live through that and stay sane, but it was a well written account without going into minute details of every thing done to her. She told enough of the story to understand what happened without going into horrifying detail of every thing. Very readable.
