It was stupid that the author brought back the characters from This Lullaby into Just Listen. They had no important part in the plot line but to fill a few pages, a few pages that I might add, were boring and utterly pointless. Other than that, it was pretty good, although a few parts kind of confused me, and I had to do a double take on the book.

At the age of 4, Lola saw her mother shot right in front of her, her father was taken away on a train and then in the middle of the night, she was handed over to a stranger by her grandmother. This is a tale of courage and perseverance.

selfish adults going through a divorce, 9/11 interferes. but not really. i just couldn't get into the lengths these people would go to just to spite each other.

This is a personal memoir about growing up in an inter-racial Calvinist family in the mid-west. At times the story rips your heart out, but the author is always very level and never judgmental or blaming. She somehow was able to accept & survive what life handed her & her brothers. A great book that kept me glued to my chair..

Sequel to The Mating. This book was even better than the first one. Good job of filling in background information on the main characters, brothers Kane and Rhyne. Loved the details and development of both brother's relationships with their mates. Looking very much forward to reading the third book in the series, The Finding.
