I normally do not like Stephen King, his books are too quickly written and not enough time and thought goes in to the plot and the characters. This book on the other hand is a wonderful thriller. Each page has you looking behind you, and jumping when something in the book jumps out. The fact that King took the time to develop the character of a raving lunatic, makes this story even more enjoyable to read. I could not put this book down when I started reading it, and thoroughly regret reading it before bed.

The last quarter of this book was actually pretty good. It was fast-paced, action packed, and a rousing good story. Too bad the first three-quarters was a complete snooze. The conservation message earned it one extra star. Hoot remains Hiaasen's best juvenile title.

This is part love story, part geographical essay. It shows the discoveries made by this expedition : rubber for example and quinine. I recommend it

This was a great book. Pride and Bear were definitely one of the best couples I have read about in some time. Like others, I will stop my journey with them here. I have no desire to see them enter into a menage with another person in the next book, so I chose to end my reading with them being happy and only wanting to be with one another. Too bad really because it's a black cloud that will hang over their relationship forever.
