Love this book! One of the best fantasy novels I've read. Sanderson has created a very interesting, unique world, the characters are excellent, and the story is a great mix of action and thinking material.
Try reading this for the first time in 1973 and then again in 2007. You will give it five stars this second time you read it.
very heady and got too "metaphysical" at the end but good read.

i need to read this one again...i don't remember too much about it...but i remember that i really enjoyed it...
Ladies, don't let the boxing scare you off from picking up this novel. It is to say the least inspirational. Not only doesn't it have a facinating setting but historical context as well. It masks itself with masculine themes but it has a real intellectual side to it that is very compelling.

Great illustrations! Teaches counting, days of the week, metamorphosis, and healthy diet. A little caterpillar eats a variety of foods and there is a hole in the page where he ate through; pretty cool. The meal on Saturday and fat caterpillar illustration crack me up. Surprise ending!

This is Bitterblue's story of trying to understand what is going on in her kingdom after her father, Leck's death. Her subjects struggle to get past the lies and evil and her advisors are deliberately misleading her. I thought the book focused too much on the atrocities committed by Leck. It was more disturbing than enjoyable.

Completely adorable story about a small-town girl with small-town sensibilities that has to come to terms with her new temporarily-but-seems-like-forever live-in citified neighbors. Tween.

His books are terrible! - but I have some strange affection for them. It's something to do with period pieces, it's something to do with the comedy value, it's something to do with their own little myth of a London that he produces that occasionally sends me back for a read of 2 or 3 in a quick flush of enthusiasm. having said that I've read this one 6 times - WHY?, and the Door with Seven Locks 3 times. Strange, but true - and fun.
I loved this book. It almost makes you wish you were Norwegian. The author is from Minnesota and teaches English at Concordia University.
